Food Allergy Blood Test
This is a blood test. The Hampstead Health Practice food allergy test will test for allergies against the 20 most common allergies.
A food panel for detecting antibodies against crab, codfish, carrot, apple, potato, tomato, celery, peach, walnut, peanut, hazelnut, almond, soyabean, rye, wheat, sesame, casein, egg white and egg yolk.
Adverse reactions to food and to inhaled substances can arise by a variety of mechanisms and these may be immune- or non-immune mediated. The usefulness of measuring IgE antibodies in Type 1 hypersensitivity reactions is now well established as a means to identify the allergens responsible for this immune-mediated reaction , which can be triggered by very small amounts of antigen. Testing for IgE antibodies may be useful to establish the diagnosis of an allergic disease and to define the allergens responsible for eliciting the signs and symptoms observed. Testing also may be useful to identify the allergens responsible for an anaphylactic episode, or to confirm sensitization to particular allergens prior to beginning immunotherapy.
The Food Safe Test
The Food Safe Test is a blood sample test. This test will measure 95 foods to see if you have an intolerance to any of those foods
The information provided in the report enables The Hampstead Health Practice Nutrition Specialist to design an appropriate diet to exclude the reactive foods. With this test you can determine the primary cause of adverse food reactions. A food that causes an IgG4 response is referred to as delayed hypersensitivity, which may come and go in cycles, depending on whether the food is eaten or avoided. Examples of the foods your wil be tested against. CASEIN- EGGS - CHEESE - WHEAT - GLUTEN - RICE - APPLES - MUSHROOMS - CANE SUGAR.
