Craniosacral Therapy

With a light and sensitive touch the Practitioner senses tensions in your body and helps to release them in a supported and comfortable way. During or after a session you may feel relaxed, calm and energised, with increased clarity of mind and a feeling of well-being.

Baby and Child Craniosacral Therapy

The exceptional gentleness and non-intrusive nature of Craniosacral Therapy make it ideal for babies and children. They tend to respond well to treatment and more quickly than adults. Many infant problems resulting from imbalances caused during the birth process, such as colic, sucking difficulties, restlessness and irritability, may be relieved.

Craniosacral Therapy during Pregnancy

Craniosacral Therapy can help support you both physically and emotionally through a period of significant change for your body, enabling a deeper connection with yourself and your baby. Treatment may help pelvic alignment to provide a more spacious environment for your baby and to ease lower back pain. Mothers-to-be have also found Craniosacral Therapy beneficial for hormonal balance, improved energy levels and eased stress and tension.

What to expect during a consultation

Your therapist will take a written case history, listening with care to the reasons for your visit. The therapist will then make light contact with your head, the base of your spine and other areas, encouraging your body to relax and to begin to make the changes it needs. Because the body functions as a whole, there may be focus on areas other than where the symptoms occur. You remain clothed and will usually lie face up or on your side.

After a session there is occasionally a short period of adjustment as part of the healing process, where you may become more aware of symptoms. Sometimes people report relief after only one or two sessions. For long-standing problems further sessions may be needed.
